How do you get kids to vote?

Published by under Politics

Kids Voting Minneapolis Kids Voting Minneapolis is a great program that I’ve just finished up some pro bono web design work for. They encourage kids to go to the polls on election day with their parents, and the kids get to vote on their own specially-prepared and official-looking ballot. The idea is to get kids into the habit of voting from any early age — and get them to nag their parents to vote. Brilliant! Take a look at their new web site.

Ajax Massive Storage System

Published by under Monkeying Around

Ever been annoyed by the 40K limit of cookies? Not anymore.

The AJAX MAssive Storage System (AMASS) uses a hidden flash applet to allow JavaScript AJAX applications to store an arbitrary amount of sophisticated information on the client side. This information is permanent and persistent; if a user closes their browser or navigates away from the web site, the information is still present and can be retrieved later by the web page. Information stored by web pages is private and locked to a single domain, so other web sites can not access this information.
